Lee (left) and General Stonewall Jackson (right) as he rappels across the front across the memorial. 3 Geologists and 5 assistants made their way down the face of Stone Mountain Tuesday to inspect the carving before embarking on a cleaning job. The last time the carving was cleaned was in 1994. The Stone Mountain Memorial Association hired the climbers and Geoologists who fare from different parts of the country. The crew used 2- 800 foot ropes and 4 -600 foot ropes which were rigged in stages.
